TRANSPORT PLANNER (NEWCASTLE)

c.£26-32,000 p.a. + benefits.


An enthusiastic Transport Planner is required to join this leading multi-disciplined engineering consultancy to play a key role in the continued success of their busy Transportation team in Newcastle. Our client has an exemplary track record of providing first-class transportation planning design, advice and input on a wide variety of projects throughout the UK and international offices. Their clients include local authorities and government organisations, private developers, house builders, housing associations and education providers.

They offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional excellence.

Responsibilities:


Working across a variety of sectors such as education, commercial, healthcare, retail and residential developments, you will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to support the delivery of technically-excellent, profitable projects.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a successful team of transport planners, delivering a broad range of services to public and private sector clients, including:

• Development planning;

• Masterplanning;

• Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans;

• Traffic data analysis and presentation;

• Parking Assessments;

• Section 278 works;

• Stand Alone Junction Modelling; and Junction Design.

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, and having gained experience in a transportation and/or transport planning role within a relevant consultancy and/or local authority you have proven your technical capability with applicable technical software such as GIS, ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig and TEMPRO.

You will have experience of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines and have proven ability in producing effective transport planning solutions and preparing project reports.

Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
