Associate Director (Development Transport Planning)
We have been instructed to source an Associate Director to our client's highly regarded traffic and transportation division. They are looking for a skilled and dynamic individual to lead their Development Transport Planning in their central London office.
Position:
Associate Director, with 10 to 15 years’ experience in Development Transport Planning working for private sector clients supporting planning applications.

This leading consultancy is looking to appoint a talented Associate Director with Development Transport Planning experience to play a key role in their growing traffic and transportation business.
The role will primarily involve leading private sector development projects across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, health and education. You will be the first point of contact for clients and oversee the preparation of Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, Environmental Statement Transport Chapters and other reports and technical notes required in achieving successful planning outcomes.
You will be professionally qualified and have an excellent working knowledge of national and local planning policy and best practice technical guidance. Significant experience of using TRICS, TEMpro, Junctions9 and LINSIG will be important as well as preliminary design skills in accordance with DMRB and Manual for Streets.
A strong track record in Client liaison and negotiation with highway and transport authorities will be essential as well as preparing fee proposals and securing new commissions. This role will suit an ambitious and capable individual who is able to develop a Development Transport Planning workload in London and the south-east of England and with support from the wider team.

Development Transport Planning is well established within their highly skilled and growing team working on major projects. This ensures that the successful candidate will enjoy an interesting and satisfying work-life with many opportunities to develop valuable skills and experience and play a pivotal role in the Transport Planning service contributing to the future growth of the business.
They also have a growing local authority development management service. The right candidate would look to support this team as well as growing this service. Some working experience of the Local Authority Development Management Service would be an advantage.

Requirements:
• Degree in Transport Planning or Civil Engineering or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability;
• Professionally qualified e.g. CTPP or CEng;
• An excellent skill level and experience in Development Transport. Planning;
• Excellent communication skills and expertise liaison and negotiation with Clients, multi-disciplinary teams, Authorities and other stakeholders;
• Project Management expertise delivering jobs on time and to budget;
• Ability to lead others and mentor junior team members;
• A working knowledge of National Planning Policy, Local Planning Policy, highway standards, and design guidance;
• Experience with relevant software packages including Junction 9 and LINSIG;
• Proficiency in design including experience of AutoCAD;
• Good written and spoken English; and
• Outstanding attention to detail.
