Our client has recently increased it’s reach with the addition of a team based in Guildford and is seeking a key new member of the team to do just that. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Your principal role will be a Design Technician producing primarily transport and highways engineering design drawings to support planning applications and detailed design submissions. This position will report to the Associate Transport Planner and involve co-professional and design team liaison.
Desired Skills, Experience & Requirements:
To be successful in this role and through your career-to-date you will have gained:
• good knowledge of highways design with experience in applying DMRB, Manual for Streets and Local Authority standards and design guidance
• proven experience of producing drawings in AutoCAD
• proficiency in the use of AutoTrack (or similar software)
• prepared drawings for or have an understanding of S106/S278/S38 highway and adoption agreements
• an understanding of CDM regulations
• good written and spoken communication skills, self-motivation whilst able to work as part of a team
Ideally your experience will be based upon an HNC or HND (Level 4/5) in Civil Engineering or the ability to demonstrate sufficient experience in highway design.
Finally, experience of Civils 3D and having gained the EngTech qualification would be beneficial although support is provided to progress towards EngTech and Incorporated status if required.
